Camera

Put yourself in the picture

Add your front or back camera to any recording, then make it yours while you record. Great for reactions, tutorials and gameplay.

  • Switch between the front and back camera in the middle of a recording
  • Resize it with a pinch, drag it anywhere, or turn it off and on again
  • Full view fills the screen with your camera; one tap brings the bubble back
  • Frames: circle, rounded, square, heart, star, hexagon and cloud, with rainbow, gold, pink or neon borders
  • Fun filters: Alien, Night vision, X-ray, Comic, Monster, Blueberry and Candy, plus subtle colour looks

Props sit where a face in the middle of the camera would be; there is no face tracking. Everything is drawn on your phone and saved in the same video.

Nothing records without you knowing

Your recordings stay on your phone. Cutscreen has no servers of its own and never uploads what you capture.

You start every recording

Recording begins only after you accept Android's own screen-sharing prompt. Nothing starts on boot or in the background.

Always visible

A notification stays on screen for the whole session, with stop one tap away.

Stays on your device

Recordings and screenshots are written straight to your gallery. Cutscreen makes no network requests of its own.

Permissions only when needed

Microphone, camera and overlay access are asked for by the feature that needs them — never at launch, and each with a "Not now". Camera frames, filters and props are drawn on your phone.

Cutscreen is free and supported by ads. Ads never appear while you record: a small banner on the main screens, and at most one full-screen ad every 3 minutes, before or after a recording, before editing or before an export. Prefer no ads at all? A one-time purchase of US$1.25 in Settings removes them. Read the privacy policy.
